Indo-Pak dialogue to open new era of cooperation: Saarc CCI

 LAHORE (July 18 2010): The leadership of Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Saarc-CCI) has appreciated the resumption of Indo-Pakistan dialogue and hoped that it will open a new era of economic co-operation between two countries and positively affect the socio-economic demography of the entire South Asian Region.

The Saarc CCI leaders Annisul Huq, President, Tariq Sayeed, immediate past President and Iftikhar Ali Malik, Vice President in a statement said that economic co-operation was inevitable to mitigate the political problems and demanded of the Governments of India and Pakistan to continue the process of dialogue and adopt business friendly measures to complement Saarc manifesto. "Poverty and unemployment are still the daunting challenges, which can be addressed through promotion of economic co-operation" they said.

Iftikhar Ali Malik has already requested Indian Foreign Minister S M Krishna to review the visa policy towards Pakistan and said that flexible visa policy will help augment economic co-operation between two countries. He said that presently 40-day visa processing policy for Pakistani nationals and businessmen is not business friendly, which need to be reviewed
