Clinton's visit: 'Pakistan should focus on boosting trade ties'

News Paper: Business Recorder
ISLAMABAD (July 19 2010): Leader Pakistan Peoples' Party and former Information Minister Sherry Rehman Sunday said Pakistan should talk about strengthening ties of trade with United States in the strategic level discussions with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Sherry Rehman welcomed Clinton's visit to Pakistan and hoped her visit would enhance Pak-US relations.

She said Pakistan should do its utmost to convince US to allow duty free and quota free export to the private sectors and economic experts of Pakistan. She further said there should be investment in reconstruction opportunity zones (ROZs) and projects of USAID.

"The country has suffered a lot and made huge sacrifices to save the sanctity and sovereignty of its land in the war against terror, United States should realise that Pakistan could not win this war without US support to strengthen the economy of Pakistan," she said.
